Do we even understand what it means for worship to be a heart posture?
My heart bows down in reverence to You.
I acknowledge that You are my Creator. That before I was here, I was with You. That You formed me just for this. That You imagined all my days and what they would look like. That You’ve seen my most terrible days, the days I would feel at my lowest. And You still sent me here because, You knew in those days I would experience Your love in its truest form. And for that alone, it would be worth it.
It means that even when words are not enough to convey the depth of our worship to You, our hearts will speak a clear message to Heaven. In our moments of worship, are our hearts able to say what our words can’t? It’s our tendency at times, to hide behind the fanciest words, as if those will impress You.
You said this about David, “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart.”
Worship is intended to be a heart to heart connection. From my heart to your heart, Lord. And from Your heart to mine.
It is not my words that worship You, it is not my body, it’s not the way I dress, and it’s not my good works. All these must be only an expression of a heart that bows down in reverence to You. An expression of a heart that has even the littlest understanding of who You are.
I know that my heart can not comprehend it all, it can not fathom it, it can not even bear it. This little vessel of mine couldn’t contain who You are, even on my best days.
Let this heart speak an uninterrupted language of worship and reverence to You Lord.
Thank You for loving me so.
And thank you, my reader, for joining me in my worship today and allowing me to share this with you.
